Esticadinho Mascot

In 2018, the City of Santo Tirso aims to activate its Nutrition Against Child Obesity Program through a mascot named "Esticadinho" (portuguese for "stretchy"). Its strategy revolves around 03 subjects : oral hygiene, nutrition and physical activity.

Esticadinho Mascot

Drawn using the long shape of a carrot as its inspiration, the Esticadinho mascot creates empathy through its shape and intensity through its palette. More than a set of illustrations, this mascot was thought of as a strategy for activating Santo Tirso's youngest citizens. Immediately, Esticadinho is included in the home-school routes of this city's children through communication media (such as a sticker book), gradually entering the locals' imaginary and incentivizing a healthier lifestyle. The mascot, besides its main representation and its 03 variations in illustration, unfolds itself onto 03 different kinds of communication media : a bag with which the kids can take fruit and food to school, a mascot suit, creating yet another layer of interaction, and a sticker book with illustrations of different kinds of fruits, as a motivational tool for bettering eating habits. It's a project specifically made for this target audience and, because of that, counts with a graphic language that shows the versatility (and also specificity) of the studio's work.
