studium – stupopium trend
Stupopium is a studium trend and an authorship stamp. It’s a set of tools researched and established to carve the creative studio into every new project. It results from a thirst for evolution and innovation, from a growing desire to be seen and recognized.
The decomposition of POP art's key elements has creating backgrounds for graphic compositions as its main goal. The outcomes of this trend are moodboards which allow the creation of an imagery of a theme or brand's communication without overlapping its own graphic language. They're a complementary element that shouldn't be featured or have a great weight on the visual message, especially because the author's language should be able to be applied to the theme or brand in question without sterilizing it. The goal is that the language is recognized (even if not immediately) by some of the details used without damaging the perception and values previously established by the brand in question and on which the intervention is being made. And that way, with POP culture as the starting point and biggest reference, this new studium trend defines, first and foremost, a toolkit. This toolkit — colour, glossary, sound, figuration and continuum — is applied, with balance, to different projects
