Guia-me is an innovative digital product aimed at tourism, sports, gastronomy, experiences, among others.

Its flexibility allows for the creation of personalised itineraries, whether they are aimed at the end customer or an institutional customer or partner.

This product is highly effective in communicating personalised experiences, combining operational simplicity (intuitive use) and exclusivity of results (each user has an itinerary dedicated to them).

Efficiency, creativity and practicality together in one solution. A database (not publicly visible) that gathers all types of information is created and organised according to the interests of the promoting entity.

Website

The ESAGE website, developed in 2015, has been redesigned and restructured to update its infrastructure, for security, performance and SEO reasons. The design has evolved to modernise the language and improve access to information.

The structure of the website was then revised, with a homepage characterised by visual animations and highlighting the logo as a focal point, in an approach that takes advantage of the dynamic visual identity developed for the clinic.
The first moment is the clinic’s general information, which is then replaced by information of each category when you click on the corresponding section in the logo. A page dedicated to the clinical staff was also created, as well as an update to the about us page with the inclusion of an image gallery of the facilities. These details, along with other structural changes and a graphic revision, guarantee an up-to-date, functional website that revisits and energises the clinic’s graphic identity.

Digital dossier for real estate investment

The digital dossier is a flexible and customisable tool designed to showcase and promote properties on the real estate market. It is, essentially, a website with several tools and types of content that present a real estate project.

The base layout of the digital dossier contains several typologies of content, like images, videos, 3d models, area charts and other kinds of visual aids to present the property. All of it can be totally rearranged and customised in a way that suits the needs of each project, ensuring a solid and dynamic platform which can easily be updated with new content whenever needed.
The main goal of this tool is to differentiate a real estate project using the advantages of an easily accessible and interactive website.

The proposal meets contemporary needs for flexibility and adaptation by presenting more than a product, a system.

PEGGO is thus a system of design, choice and decision, where creativity, play and answering questions yet to be formulated are the creative operators.

When we think of a multifunctional partition, we have an expectation of the functions that this piece will fulfil.

In the case of the PEGGO system, this dynamic is completely reversed.
Our most basic expectation of the piece is that it can accommodate certain functions and spatial organisation.

It’s natural to think that this same piece can receive additional elements that support these primary functions, such as being able to support, display or suspend other elements using certain accessories. In this way, other uses are allowed, whether in a domestic or professional environment.

But the inversion of the logic of use arises in the way that the functional dynamic is directed towards a system of other pieces and, as components of a more comprehensive system of elements, configures other pieces and other uses and so on.

Instead of receiving expectations, it emits a set of possibilities that lead to expected and unexpected uses.

A partition that is intended to be part of a bookcase, a desk or an acoustic booth is in itself a new relationship between design, the user and the useful life of a product.

It goes beyond a transformation mechanism and sees itself as a blank canvas available to its user.

This period of research is now complete.

More than 30 solutions have been developed from the initial partition and the system of standardised solutions.
However, at the root of this process is the unpredictability of use by the user.

In other words, research can move in the direction of the user themselves and the solutions that the use of the solution may demonstrate.

Research provides for this design on the imponderable in both the user and the industry. In the user because the appropriation of use will teach me new and unexpected things, and in industry because the technical system’s ability to adapt to markets and consumers is total.

In terms of materials, there is a clear commitment to ecology and innovation in the circular economy, where any material that is structurally stable and can be laminated into sheets and perforated to the core is accepted for mass production.

There are no limits except mentality and creativity.

And there the industry has to match the creative potential of the solutions. It’s a shared responsibility that both the author and the producer have towards society. An economistic and conformist attitude will not be the answer to the necessary advances.

An award in this field is no longer a new experience for me.

The issues of the project and design process in a research environment are simple to identify because there is a clear need to justify innovation and originality on the basis of valid and current arguments.

Sustainability and flexibility are only practicable by admitting disciplinary responsibility within and beyond the field of architecture. this critical thinking relates the robust structures of design to society and industry and assumes that a conformist approach will not suffice.

This award recognises the need to apply a divergent practice to architecture and design, where industry can only play its role as a medium through which to disseminate this position on our built habitat.

This award, but above all the people I work with and the group experiences in each situation, confirm that a career dedicated to a divergent way of thinking is possible and impactful enough to be more than a profession and position itself as a vocation to be part of a better world.

A NMSM é uma marca que se posiciona de forma inovadora e elegante junto de um público-alvo alargado. Reúne os serviços de Nelson Moreira, consultor de produtos financeiros estruturados e imobiliários no modelo B2B, trabalhando para family offices, construtoras, consultores e parceiros imobiliários.

O projeto de identidade gráfica da NMSM Capital centra-se na representação e personificação de quatro palavras-chave que servem de pilares à proposta: artístico, arrojado, elegante e minimalista. Estas palavras-chave são materializadas em diferentes aspectos da identidade visual, desde as escolhas tipográficas até aos acabamentos dos suportes impressos, passando pela comunicação e pela paleta de cores.

O logótipo é composto por dois elementos com funções distintas: a sigla — que identifica a atividade da marca e explora o ritmo e a continuidade entre as várias iniciais — e o nome — que representa o serviço da marca e reforça a ideia de Capital através da formatação em maiúsculas, com personalizações de pormenor que garantem uma leitura rápida e harmoniosa.
Adicionalmente, é desenhado um desdobrável, que pode conter documentos e, através da narrativa criada pelo processo de desdobragem, apresenta a marca, o cliente e os serviços disponíveis.

Website

The existence of the new Oliva Bolhão store as a new physical space for the brand, encourages its adaptation and its parallel positioning to the digital environment, namely from a personalised website, a place to call home.

The new website foresees the use of the conceptual and graphic bases developed for the brand’s visual identity, and its adaptation to the digital environment.

It presents a homepage separated in 03 sections of interest (presentation, catalogue, communication) allowing the user to easily access to the different pages of the platform.

The presentation and demonstration of the brand’s concept, as well as its product catalogue, are highlighted, with pages reserved for each of these themes. The conceptual approach and art direction of the website is based on the coexistence of geometric shapes with natural photographic elements.

Visual Identity

The redesign of the Oliva & Co. coincides with the relocation for Mercado do Bolhão. This turning point for the brand reinforces the need to update the visual identity, and for it to become capable of adapting to different media and communication supports.

The main concept focuses on the inseparable relationship between the olive tree and its leaf, the later being the basic geometric structure for the development of the logotype.

The design of the identity involves the customisation of the description “Oliva”, created from the elongated shape of the olive leaf, a form that allows for a regularisation of the metrics for the construction of the brand’s name. The Oliva graphic identity seeks to position the brand on a high-end level through the combination of sober and elegant colours and carefully though typography, although with very present industrial roots. Thus, the customisation of the logo places the identity on a level of exclusivity and uniqueness, with the adjacent toolkit being a complement and reinforcement of the brand’s positioning. This toolkit (colour palette, typography and photographic art direction) allows the identity a more pronounced expression (valuing the industrial component), without escaping the positioning and the intended target audience.

SAMS is a Medical-Social Assistance Service under the SBN brand that seeks to update its services through the implementation of new tools, namely digital kiosks.

These devices allow users and beneficiaries to check-in at SAMS clinics. In addition, it is also possible to request a declaration of presence through them.

App SAMS SBN

The SAMS SBN App presents itself as a new solution, convenient and accessible to all SAMS users and beneficiaries. In this way, everyone can enjoy the services provided by this institution.

The project started from the need for the brand to grow and adapt to the digital environment, in particular by integrating with new digital tools such as the app.

For that reason, the aim was to make it as simple, accessible and personal as possible, while creating a new foundation for communication, art direction and the brand toolkit.

Visually, the app is very progressive and at the same time familiar. All the elements of the layout have been designed to ensure comfortable viewing and reading. There is a home page from which you can access the main pages and functions of the app. The navbar, which is always present, makes it easy to navigate to the relevant pages.

The conceived version is just a starting point for this tool and will evolve and naturally integrate new pages and features as the brand evolves.

Restaurant

DOMODOMO is a Japanese restaurant located in the centre of Porto. The studium’s project goes through the conceptualisation and design of the space, focusing on functional systems and consumption policies.

One of the main concepts of this project is the creation of different structural, functional and material elements that guarantee a uniform and coherent reading of the space, the exponentiation of the quality of the experience (provided by the spatial environment), the curiosity of the customer and the appropriation of the different policies of permanence and consumption (lunch/dinner).

Through a set of standardisation criteria, basic elements are identified, indisputably as DOMODOMO

Unifying space means maximising the functionality of its spatial elements, as is the case in Japanese culture. Different functions are proposed from the same basic element, reducing the number of variables and ensuring uniformity and clarity in the perception of the space as a whole.

Visual Identity

The brand and design of DOMODOMO’s visual identity is born from the reference of the original restaurant, DOMO. The creation of the new brand is accompanied by the opening of its restaurant, and focuses on the relationship between the two, ensuring, at the same time, their complete autonomy.

The DOMODOMO visual identity is characterized for as a mimic of the original DOMO identity, and uses elements like:

Square
Represented with a contour line, which frames the letters that make up the name DOMODOMO.

Typography
Poppins font, highly geometric and compact, is used to build the logo, creating a coherent typographic set, of great legibility and formal simplicity. The name is distributed in 02 lines of text, which make up D O + M O. This composition maintains a harmonious balance due to the size and similarity of the letters.

Color
The visual identity color system uses blue as the main color, this blue that unfolds into four other shades of blue, two darker and two lighter.

Design
The design of the logo reflects the overlapping of the original composition of DOMO’s visual identity, from which a displacement is made in a downward direction and left > right.

Website 2023

The MONSTRUKTOR website is a 6 years old personal website, where the author Sérgio Miguel Magalhães shares his vision through text, drawing and photography, presenting his personal approach onto daily life, and also presenting his academic work.

The new version of this platform has been designed with accessibility, minimalism and simplification, in mind.

Content from two distinct profiles of the author are uploaded onto this platform. The main purpose of this update is to be more intentional with this division and split the two types of posts into different pages.

The AMMP website works as a platform for presenting the agency’s portfolio of brands, as well as its services and skills. In 2023 the platform was updated in order to make it more user friendly, and also to provide a simplification to the website’s content.

The aim of the website update is to restructure and simplify the platform into a future-proof, easy-to-maintain and high-performance approach.

Structurally, the website works as a single page divided into sections:

Banner – linking to the ‘info’ section below – featuring one of four background animations and the brand’s motto;

Cases – a vertically split section, with a scrolling list of projects on the left and a featured image of the selected project on the right;

Rarissime: label and packaging

The proposal for the label and packaging design of the Quinta da Sequeira’s RARISSIME Red Wine 2017 aims to create the art direction and apply it to different communication media, representing the product. This edition has a wine value of great relevance to the farm and presents itself as a strong portfolio item for the client.

This wine is characterized by some unique characteristics, namely its fortuitous production, with high quality grapes and the favorable environmental context of the year 2017, providing a wine of extraordinary quality, rare and of great commercial value.

The creative development consists in designing the label and its packaging for 01 and 03 bottles. The graphic strategy takes the wine and the geographical surroundings as main visual references, thus ensuring a solid graphic language deeply connected to the wine, and its local context.

This update focused not only on the website art direction, but above all on an approach that guarantees its longevity and ease of maintenance, through current practices that represent a perspective of optimisation and performance.

The visual design of the website is quite crude, minimalist and pragmatic. This allows the different projects presented to stand out, breathe and coexist independently.

In order to facilitate the immediate consultation of the archive, the projects are organised according to color coded tags of the fields of interest and are presented as a list that enables the visualisation of a wide range of projects per page.

Website

Olicargo is a transport and logistics company with a wide range of services and worldwide coverage, supported by a network of global partners, that moves goods by land, sea and air. In the context of the company’s 35th anniversary celebrations, the studium presents the communication strategy and design of Olicargo’s new website.

The website presents the concept of a logistics city, with great visibility in the different banners, where individual illustrations become a visual highlight.

This communication element is one of the most visible and important asset dedicated to the communication strategy, art direction and materialisation of the tool. The website is, by itself a way to promote Olicargo’s services, but mostly it is a demonstration of the visual language that must be evolutive, bold and coherent, able to define the brand’s 35 years.

Website

Redesign and restructuring of the SBN (Portugal’s Financial Workers’ Syndicate) website in order to improve the user experience.

The website redesign is especially focused on its structure. Through a hierarchical system, the entire information architecture is rethought and fine-tuned, in order to provide the best possible experience for beneficiaries. Along with this improvement there is the proposal of a new photographic art direction which complements the simple and elegant design of the website, stabilizing the graphic identity.
It’s through all these elements that the cohesion and homogeneity of all SBN graphic communication is ensured.

studium’s participation in Concéntrico 08 is a double intervention in Quinta do Seixo and Viña Lanciano. A journey between two places and two eras is created through a monumental route that evokes classicism.

A reflection about contemporaneity, anchored on the perception of classic sins and virtues. A symbolic representation of moral principles through material and matter as substances of criticism. Wine and consumerism as both, conditions and deviations. A travel dispositif enabling a connection between present and past times. The metaphorical narrative about how in classic times wine was the way to escape reality and navigate madness, and how the popular cult of consumerism provides the same inebriant state to humanity.

The Moral of Virtues and Sins is a project by studium . creative studio, the result of a selection and ambition of a multidisciplinary and complementary team, dedicated to the development of architecture, communication design and product design projects. Focused on the process and its irrefutability, studium is guided by its mojo, an assertive blend of rigorous vision, passion and oddity, a mojo that defines the way we design a career in the studio. Online Store

The development of the Novóptica online store follows the updating of the identity, art direction and SBN and SAMS platforms. In 2018, the first approach to the evolution of the Novóptica graphic identity was designed and, in 2021, the proposal for the online store was developed.

Within the SBN ecosystem, Novóptica is the brand with an openly commercial positioning and oriented towards sales to the general public.
