The project, called ‘Collective Housing Building in São João da Madeira’, starts with an architectural project which, due to its size and relevance, involves branding, visual identity and a real estate dossier. These elements result in the creation of a strategy that materialised in various digital and printed communication supports

The real estate dossier (an online platform) has a strong digital component that allows the integration of text modules, images and tables, as well as updating content according to the needs of the client, developer or project. It is also possible to adapt the platform for print and download. 

The branding and graphic identity developments create context by referencing the location, São João da Madeira, and allow the communication model to be replicated for architectural projects in other locations. The main language is Portuguese, which is a distinctive factor compared to competitors who favour English.

2025 Communication

Prova’s 2025 communication is designed in the context of celebrating 11 years of the brand and the space. Under this commemorative motto, the visual identity is revisited and, in some details, evolved. This is how the authorial perspective of the Prova discourse is once again emphasised, in a communication strategy that extends throughout 2025.

The starting point for the communication media is the poster, a widely recognised medium by Prova’s clients and with a strong graphic basis that sums up the brand’s visual identity. The communication strategy for 2025 begins with creating and programming themed poster series. These series evolve the brand’s visual motifs through elements such as the expression of the brush and illustration.

In parallel with the series of posters, support for social networks and t-shirts for the space’s team are also developed.

Umbrella Brand

The project stems from the client’s need to create a main brand that organises and manages different sub-brands related to the areas of architecture, engineering and construction. There must be a clear hierarchy between all the elements, so that the main brand manages brands of equal importance between each other.

United Worx is the main brand that sustains and organises other sub-brands, retaining their nominal autonomy, but permanently associated with the main entity.

The brand manager uses United Worx as his most important communication tool and business legacy. It represents the potential of unity and diversity, making it possible to create a brand with an autonomous name which emphasises the entrepreneurial value of the client. The brand’s name, detached from the name of its manager, generates a global and simple recognition which suggests ideas of transversality, diversity, professionalism and integration. These qualities are mirrored in its discourse, brand structure, art direction and communication channels. Therefore, the word “United” is associated with the idea of union and complementarity while “Worx” represents the brand’s activities and actions. Regarding the statement, “Building global” represents constructing and creating on a large scale, not only physical buildings but also ideas and connections.

Visual Identity + website

The project consists of looking for a visual signature, a representation of the person, rather than a brand. A visual symbol that identifies Fernando as an analyst. This digital signature is implemented in various digital communication media and asserts itself as the representation of the analyst, absorbing all the premises of art direction and visual language, in an expression that takes as its inspiration the imagery of Human Design.
These communication objectives are also achieved through a website that offers a light, continuous screen experience and reinforces trust with the target audience.

The visual identity for Fernando Cruz is used in two main media: the website, the main tool, and social networks, which seek to direct new customers to the site. Thus, a signature and an icon are developed, used in reduced formats (profile photo on social media, for example).
The signature is dynamic and in constant movement, expanding and contracting in a subtle oscillating movement that evokes the lightness of the website design, designed for a fluid and continuous experience.
The icon is a simplified visual representation of the visual identity and is made up of different layers with various levels of meaning. This element serves as a motto or emblem, living on its imperfect, organic graphic expression – an analogy for the nature of Being and the journey towards one’s essence.
Chromatically, the identity is punctuated by a palette made up of neutral tones that suggest tranquillity, balance and a highlight colour that subtly evokes the colour of the 7th chakra (pink/purple), associated with the integration of an individual’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions.

Visual Identity

The redesign of the Oliva & Co. coincides with the relocation for Mercado do Bolhão. This turning point for the brand reinforces the need to update the visual identity, and for it to become capable of adapting to different media and communication supports.

The main concept focuses on the inseparable relationship between the olive tree and its leaf, the later being the basic geometric structure for the development of the logotype.

The design of the identity involves the customisation of the description “Oliva”, created from the elongated shape of the olive leaf, a form that allows for a regularisation of the metrics for the construction of the brand’s name. The Oliva graphic identity seeks to position the brand on a high-end level through the combination of sober and elegant colours and carefully though typography, although with very present industrial roots. Thus, the customisation of the logo places the identity on a level of exclusivity and uniqueness, with the adjacent toolkit being a complement and reinforcement of the brand’s positioning. This toolkit (colour palette, typography and photographic art direction) allows the identity a more pronounced expression (valuing the industrial component), without escaping the positioning and the intended target audience.

SAMS is a Medical-Social Assistance Service under the SBN brand that seeks to update its services through the implementation of new tools, namely digital kiosks.

These devices allow users and beneficiaries to check-in at SAMS clinics. In addition, it is also possible to request a declaration of presence through them.

App SAMS SBN

The SAMS SBN App presents itself as a new solution, convenient and accessible to all SAMS users and beneficiaries. In this way, everyone can enjoy the services provided by this institution.

The project started from the need for the brand to grow and adapt to the digital environment, in particular by integrating with new digital tools such as the app.

For that reason, the aim was to make it as simple, accessible and personal as possible, while creating a new foundation for communication, art direction and the brand toolkit.

Visually, the app is very progressive and at the same time familiar. All the elements of the layout have been designed to ensure comfortable viewing and reading. There is a home page from which you can access the main pages and functions of the app. The navbar, which is always present, makes it easy to navigate to the relevant pages.

The conceived version is just a starting point for this tool and will evolve and naturally integrate new pages and features as the brand evolves.

Visual Identity

The brand and design of DOMODOMO’s visual identity is born from the reference of the original restaurant, DOMO. The creation of the new brand is accompanied by the opening of its restaurant, and focuses on the relationship between the two, ensuring, at the same time, their complete autonomy.

The DOMODOMO visual identity is characterized for as a mimic of the original DOMO identity, and uses elements like:

Square
Represented with a contour line, which frames the letters that make up the name DOMODOMO.

Typography
Poppins font, highly geometric and compact, is used to build the logo, creating a coherent typographic set, of great legibility and formal simplicity. The name is distributed in 02 lines of text, which make up D O + M O. This composition maintains a harmonious balance due to the size and similarity of the letters.

Color
The visual identity color system uses blue as the main color, this blue that unfolds into four other shades of blue, two darker and two lighter.

Design
The design of the logo reflects the overlapping of the original composition of DOMO’s visual identity, from which a displacement is made in a downward direction and left > right.

The MONSTRUKTOR website is a 6 years old personal website, where the author Sérgio Miguel Magalhães shares his vision through text, drawing and photography, presenting his personal approach onto daily life, and also presenting his academic work.

The new version of this platform has been designed with accessibility, minimalism and simplification, in mind.

Content from two distinct profiles of the author are uploaded onto this platform. The main purpose of this update is to be more intentional with this division and split the two types of posts into different pages.

Rarissime: label and packaging

The proposal for the label and packaging design of the Quinta da Sequeira’s RARISSIME Red Wine 2017 aims to create the art direction and apply it to different communication media, representing the product. This edition has a wine value of great relevance to the farm and presents itself as a strong portfolio item for the client.

This wine is characterized by some unique characteristics, namely its fortuitous production, with high quality grapes and the favorable environmental context of the year 2017, providing a wine of extraordinary quality, rare and of great commercial value.

The creative development consists in designing the label and its packaging for 01 and 03 bottles. The graphic strategy takes the wine and the geographical surroundings as main visual references, thus ensuring a solid graphic language deeply connected to the wine, and its local context.

2022 catalogue

FRICON is a company specialized in the creation, development, production and commercialization of refrigeration and freezing equipment, ice cream freezers and beverage refrigerators. Studium’s proposal involves the development of the product catalogues for 2022, based on the 2021 catalogue, previously designed, and conceptually based on the aurora borealis.

Umbrella brand

WNDER is the ability to wander, to wonder, to be amazed, to fall in love with a brand, with a view and with Madeira’s visiting experience. That’s exactly what AMMP and studium developed, a brand new name for an umbrella structure, based on a series of hotels located in Madeira, Portugal.

The proposal is mainly a system, it is an opportunity to insert and include imagery and other visual or conceptual elements, that concern the “blank” space W_NDER. That space can provide a linguistic approach based on fonethic or semanthic. It also can provide a variety of representations such as tipographic symbols, emojis, color, sound or even photography.

This project is of a very elastic and potential interaction with its audience, since it can be related with emotions (ex. to wander in Madeira), sensations (ex. to wonder about its beauty) and many other concepts. WNDER is also characterized by its easy integration with a wide range audience – from english based countries, to german based ones. This name is universal, it is emotional, it is clear even though its provocative blank space. Check out the name creation process with the video teaser. Website

CHUC is an institution of the National Health Service with the mission of providing high quality and differentiated health care services to patients in its area of influence and to those of regional and national origin, in articulation with other health care units.

The studium’s proposal makes up the analysis of the existing website, transforming it into a performing and current platform, in order to find points of improvement regarding its strategic, functional and graphic structure. Modernize the general concept of the website, its experience and design. Improve and organize the presentation of contents, integrate functionalities and new sections, namely reserved areas and the CHUC academy section.

It’s proposed to modernize the homepage, with sections for quick access to the main information and to disambiguate the site’s navigation, as well as the development of a standard page to update the existing structure. The navigation menu has become clearer, with revision of the information hierarchy visible. Each hospital also has its own page for more immediate specific consultation.

studium’s participation in Concéntrico 08 is a double intervention in Quinta do Seixo and Viña Lanciano. A journey between two places and two eras is created through a monumental route that evokes classicism.

A reflection about contemporaneity, anchored on the perception of classic sins and virtues. A symbolic representation of moral principles through material and matter as substances of criticism. Wine and consumerism as both, conditions and deviations. A travel dispositif enabling a connection between present and past times. The metaphorical narrative about how in classic times wine was the way to escape reality and navigate madness, and how the popular cult of consumerism provides the same inebriant state to humanity.

Online Store

The development of the Novóptica online store follows the updating of the identity, art direction and SBN and SAMS platforms. In 2018, the first approach to the evolution of the Novóptica graphic identity was designed and, in 2021, the proposal for the online store was developed.

Within the SBN ecosystem, Novóptica is the brand with an openly commercial positioning and oriented towards sales to the general public.

2021 Catalogue

FRICON . 2021 Catalogue by studium . creative studio

FRICON is a company whose specialty is to create, develop, produce and commercialize of refrigeration and freezing equipment, ice cream freezers and beverage refrigerators.
The studium proposal involves the development of the product catalogs for 2021, using the previously designed 2020 catalog as the starting point.

The 2021 catalog follows the approach and art direction defined for the 2020 catalogue. The year 2021 also marks the 45th anniversary of FRICON, so that moment served as a motto for
a new interpretation of the catalog’s cover design, evolving the existing art direction. Light is the main argument for graphic communication and is explored from a figurative perspective and focused on the commemorative message.

The materialization of the commemoration is represented by the creation of an additional flap, an extension of the back cover, which, through folding and external fitting, guarantees a new level of interaction and reading not found in the previous version. This flap, when opened, reveals a section that allows the insertion of a commemorative text that marks the date and allows the reader a high level of immersion.
