Visual identity + Congresses

SPNR is a scientific association in the field of Medical Imaging dedicated to the Central Nervous System, in its diagnostic, therapeutic, teaching and research aspects. A change in management creates the opportunity for the Society to communicate events and other actions with a new language, from which a new graphic identity is derived. In this way, it is possible to create a communication strategy that allows the SPNR to get closer to its target audience and, consequently, attract and retain new members.

The renewal of SPNR’s discourse involves expanding communication to new tools and contexts and adapting its presence to a new, more dynamic and active target audience.
This adaptation also means maintaining the existing audience, ensuring the coherence of the Society’s discourse. The visual communication uses various graphic arguments related to Neuroradiology, including visual textures associated with the speciality. The logo, composed of the name and a symbolic representation, synthesises the image of a brain, used to represent Neuroradiology, in a synthesis exercise that explores perception at different distances. Regarding the 19th Congress, the graphic language is characterised by a segmentation into two main elements: information and background. The background is made up of visual textures associated with CT and MRI scans that frame the information. The information is laid out in a linear format, evoking the text information that appears on the sides of medical test results.

Visual Identity

The brand and design of DOMODOMO’s visual identity is born from the reference of the original restaurant, DOMO. The creation of the new brand is accompanied by the opening of its restaurant, and focuses on the relationship between the two, ensuring, at the same time, their complete autonomy.

The DOMODOMO visual identity is characterized for as a mimic of the original DOMO identity, and uses elements like:

Square
Represented with a contour line, which frames the letters that make up the name DOMODOMO.

Typography
Poppins font, highly geometric and compact, is used to build the logo, creating a coherent typographic set, of great legibility and formal simplicity. The name is distributed in 02 lines of text, which make up D O + M O. This composition maintains a harmonious balance due to the size and similarity of the letters.

Color
The visual identity color system uses blue as the main color, this blue that unfolds into four other shades of blue, two darker and two lighter.

Design
The design of the logo reflects the overlapping of the original composition of DOMO’s visual identity, from which a displacement is made in a downward direction and left > right.

Rarissime: label and packaging

The proposal for the label and packaging design of the Quinta da Sequeira’s RARISSIME Red Wine 2017 aims to create the art direction and apply it to different communication media, representing the product. This edition has a wine value of great relevance to the farm and presents itself as a strong portfolio item for the client.

This wine is characterized by some unique characteristics, namely its fortuitous production, with high quality grapes and the favorable environmental context of the year 2017, providing a wine of extraordinary quality, rare and of great commercial value.

The creative development consists in designing the label and its packaging for 01 and 03 bottles. The graphic strategy takes the wine and the geographical surroundings as main visual references, thus ensuring a solid graphic language deeply connected to the wine, and its local context.

The monograph is a publication of a selective account of the studium’s 20-year journey in its areas of activity: graphic design, product design, web design and architecture. It aims to showcase the studio and its values, as well as some of the projects developed.

2022 catalogue

FRICON is a company specialized in the creation, development, production and commercialization of refrigeration and freezing equipment, ice cream freezers and beverage refrigerators. Studium’s proposal involves the development of the product catalogues for 2022, based on the 2021 catalogue, previously designed, and conceptually based on the aurora borealis.

2021 Catalogue

FRICON is a company whose specialty is to create, develop, produce and commercialize of refrigeration and freezing equipment, ice cream freezers and beverage refrigerators.
The studium proposal involves the development of the product catalogs for 2021, using the previously designed 2020 catalog as the starting point.

The 2021 catalog follows the approach and art direction defined for the 2020 catalogue. The year 2021 also marks the 45th anniversary of FRICON, so that moment served as a motto for
a new interpretation of the catalog’s cover design, evolving the existing art direction. Light is the main argument for graphic communication and is explored from a figurative perspective and focused on the commemorative message.

The materialization of the commemoration is represented by the creation of an additional flap, an extension of the back cover, which, through folding and external fitting, guarantees a new level of interaction and reading not found in the previous version. This flap, when opened, reveals a section that allows the insertion of a commemorative text that marks the date and allows the reader a high level of immersion.

2022 Activity Plan

COTEC Portugal – Associação Empresarial para a Inovação é uma associação privada sem fins lucrativos constituída em Abril de 2003 na sequência de uma iniciativa do então Presidente da República PortuguesaJorge Sampaio. O Sérgio é também um ávido estruturalista, evoluindo constantemente a sua forma unificadora e específica de criação de conteúdo criativo a que chama de Sistema Metodológico.

Arquitetos e designers alinhados por uma metodologia e prática disciplinada, altamente competente num ambiente caracterizado pela constante crítica aos modelos tradicionais de fazer projeto.As a starting point and basis of analysis are the already existent communication materials, that through their previously defined structure and intentions provide crucial information for the development of a new approach to the project.
The art direction focuses on the access to the information and snappiness of the content, taking shape in a brochure that excels on its accessibility and clear reading strongly influenced by movements such as classicism, iluminism and humanism, it revolves around key-concepts like: readability; scale; hierarchy.

20th anniversary book

SPACV‘s 20th anniversary book by studium . creative studio

To mark SPACV’s 20th anniversary, we designed a compendium book of all the Society’s activities and those who were part of it.
The book, composed of 10 chapters (corresponding to the 10 mandates), is a record and memory of the evolution of SPACV since its foundation.

Being a unique book, of a commemorative nature, we sought to give it some distinction through its own format.
Taking into account the particularity of being mostly composed of images, we looked for a proportion that more closely resembles a photo album (usually square or horizontally oriented) than a standard book/magazine (A4 or A5).

A special book has to look like so from the first moment, from the first impression.
In this sense, we dedicate special attention to the cover and its finishes, to give it the distinct look the client desired. Other refinement finishes were also suggested, such as the addition of a ribbon or a marker with a commemorative message from the current SPACV president.

As a final note, the book is wrapped in golden paper that reveals a map of Portugal inside with all the Society’s Annual Congresses signalized. This second intention transforms a disposable object into a piece that can be framed.

Euroshop 2020

FRICON Euroshop 2020 – studium developed FRICON‘s stand for Euroshop 2020, with the intent of starting a new era for the brand’s communication.

The moment was chosen to present the new product line (CLS), a key piece that inspired a new approach to a fair’s stand.

A new catalogue was also designed, following the stand’s art direction.

studium proposed a radical approach to the stan by presenting only one featured product – the CLS line. All the other equipments were displayed on a vertical wall as a second, different, moment of exhibition.

The art direction, inspired by the northern lights (aurora borealis), affected not only the development of the stand and its cenography, with the play on lights and membrane, but also in the catalogue design.

1para1 brand

1para1 presents itself as one of the most disruptive communication concepts the agency provided to the studio until today, combining its function as a pharmacy with a new crossover between an online store and a service platform for door-to-door product distribution. Enhancing the unquestionable fact that this brand it is simultaneously a new service, a product for the consumer and a product as a service for the physical pharmacy. The name is simple, concise and explicit, straightforward and easy to understand, just like the interaction it promotes with its universal audience.

There is a direct relationship between who needs it and the brand, the entity that makes it happen. This proximity is at the base of the creation of all the elements, making this a complex project — specifically the graphic identity —, imposing a universal flexibility of elements between the clarity of regular shapes, the difference in between them and the regular space left to use, creating this unique language.

The strategy created for the brand amplifies the communication and enhances core brand values such as convenience, the immediate response, and the multitude of choices the product range provides.

1para1 presents as its biggest factors of distinction, the speed and the agility of range for the delivery of its products. This is the service that is more than an online store, it’s also an extension of the physical pharmacies themselves, allowing them to create a very particular empathy with the consumer and to reach different target audiences. This broader range of segmentation is personified in the brand strategy by the creation of the 04 brand characters.

Annual report

Gestmin, a familiar group with the vision and aim for innovation, with activity based on growth, leadership, solidity and excellence. For the 2016 Annual Report, has developed a sober and elegant language in a layout with expansive details, prioritizing good legibility and reading.

The whole, that one includes one thousand and one drawings: the brands, the identities, the space, the communication concepts, the intentions, the technical drawings and even the studium® author’s tenacity.

To make it talk, to make it communicate. Expounding, expressing and bringing to these two brands, their own reality and more, that space which is born when they intersect. That is exactly what this chapter represents: the versatility and scale of this project that even in the way it is exposed, shows its genuineness.
To say is the fourth chapter of this journey, the moment when the intentions become real and the brands communicate in a wide range of media. A direct relationship between creating and exposing. Enjoy.

2017 Event

Porto Vascular Conference is a conferences event that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms, peripheral arterial diseases, chronic venous diseases, venous thromboembolic diseases and carotid stenosis in accordance with international recommendations and consensus documents. The list of speakers and participants include renowned national and international experts.

Celebrating PVC’s fifth edition, studium® redesigned the identity of the event, focusing more on its target audiences, both scientific and student communities. Aiming to associate the event’s image with international reference events with a more festive character, studium® envisioned “the festival” approach, making Porto Vascular Conference the celebration of scientific knowledge.
